[Repost] Debugging with browser input
I'm sorry I didn't explain this very well the first time...
1. The Lasso Server WSDL* path is 'http://localhost/RPC.LassoApp?WSDL'
2. It seems that if I want to debug 'myfile.lasso' locally on my own machine using the option "Wait for Browser Request", I have to make a browser request to http://localhost/myfile.lasso eventhough this path doesn't exist; it works at any case - but Eclipse must be listening before you make the request.
3. This creates a problem, however, because all references in 'myfile.lasso' will be wrong then, even if they are set from the server root like this: '/inc/myinclude.inc'.
4. If I try to make a browser request to the same file using either the real path like this: 'http://127.0.0.1/mydirectory1/mydirectory2/myfile.lasso', or using the virtual path I have set up following Greg's walkthrough like this: 'http://www.myproject.dev/myfile.lasso' the request is not received by Eclipse Studio, which just continues waiting for a browser request.
Question: can I change something in the project preferences/paths or whatever which will make Eclipse Studio listen to either the virtual address 'www.myproject.dev' (best option), or the real address '127.0.0.1/mydirectory1/mydirectory2' (second best option)?
I find the possibility to debug using browser request _very_ interesting! One thing it revealed for me recently is how the browser forces page encoding to be iso-8859-1, eventhough the format file is utf-8 with BOM, untill it reaches the code line [content_type: 'text/html; charset=utf-8'] (thanks to Bil Corry for stressing how important it is to have this line in all pages); only hereafter encoding appears as utf-8. Furthermore, input encoding stays iso-8859-1 whatsoever (surprising, wasn't input expected to be encoded the same way the file is...?)
Debugging with browser request still sometimes makes my Eclipse wave goodbye with an exit code 10, but - wow - it's a very powerfull feature :)
Thanks in advance, Nikolaj
