Re: Configuration Wizard - major flaws
Werner, as much as I share your frustration, Lasso Studio 4 DW does work.
Version 1.5 is a vast improvement over Version 1.0 (particularly the configuration wizard, although I still can't get it to work with WebStar.
I would like to hear if anyone else has got it to work with WebStar, as I have only read the other stories of snapshot returning with no field information. Fletcher's last instructions to remove 'other' plug-ins did not help.
Here's what I have found works OK :-
1. Lasso Server 3.6.5 should install correctly without need for change. 2. Ensure that when you install DS4DW, that the Dreamweaver folder with the .lasso pages is inside the Lasso folder. 3. I maybe wrong, but security is not an issue for the configuration wizard, as it should work the same as with Instant Publishing. 4. Even without Dreamweaver, the http:////"your IP address"/Lasso/Dreamweaver/lassostudio.lasso file wil create a snapshot file that you can then load into Dreamweaver.
The LassoStudioDW List does seem to be full of Configuration Wizard woes, although I would bet there are many success stories using this product. Maybe Bill could point a few out.
