RE: [newbie] Inline with Form Parameters {repost}
Hi all.
I am just starting to get the hang of Lasso, and I think I have an idea of how to accomplish my next task.
So, with Steve Lewis' help, I have been able to add a record to a database, and have the reply page add an additional 2 fields worth of information before displaying the reply page (via an inline). The reply page is also an edit form. THis works really well and I am happy.
The next bit seems a litle harder.
Page 1 - add record fom PAge 2 - edit form Page 3 - non-editable detail with a conditional logic-initiated inline
In english - if the user has chosen "yes" for a specific field, I need the inline to add a record to a second database and display not only the record that was added to the database, but an edit record form that shows the record that was added to the second database in an EDIT record form
Let me show you the way i think it works (im using {} for my comments}
{ Standard Non Editable Response table showing the fields from the record in dev_cqa_samples }
then i add this underneath
[If:(Field:'Defect')=='yes']
[Inline: Database='dev_cqa.fp3', Layout='cqa', , Add] {i would assume that within the add inline, I would need to use , for instance, "create_date=(Form_Param:'create_date')" for each field within the inline before the add] }
after that Inline, I want the following editable form to appear. {or something that will be close to this}
a) is the add inline assumption correct { create_date=(Form_Param:'create_date') } b) how do I get lasso to know which record from dev_cqa.fp3 to show in the edit form?
Thanks in advance Kiru
(P.S. If you have read this far. what am i doing wrong in my posts that no one ever answers them?)
