What version of MacOS are you running. I upgraded from 9.0.4 -> 9.1 and
had to go back because DW was super slow. Apparently, that issue is a
known problem with 9.1.

Hi Karstyn,
I ran into the same problem. On quick note, my response is related to my
experience with FileMaker databases.
With that, it has nothing to do with the database size. It has to do with
the
number of fields and how your layouts are set up. My files are a few hundred
MB each and I have 150-200 fields in the file. It turns out that I had
fields
on my layout that were set up to display value lists. Some of these value
lists were HUGE because they were set up to display all fields in the
record.
Within FileMaker that works fine. However, LS4DW lists every item in the
value lists in the snapshot file. My database had about 5000 records. I had
these huge value lists assigned to multiple fields on my layout. That is
enough to make the snapshot process fail. Way too many records.
My suggestion is make sure your layouts are clean and don't have massive
value lists assigned to fields.

First, there must be an art to getting a good snapshot - an art I have not
come
close to mastering. I just did get an almost good snapshot, it totaly missed
one database, but it took literaly 3 hours of processing time! Then when
trying
to use the Form Builder or any of those type of tools, it can take from 2-5
min. between when I click on a button to when the screen finishes a redraw!
Yes, these databases are on the larger side, but not unreasonably so. I
tried
to take a snapshot of 5 databases, ranging in size from 2 to 77 MB, and from
6
to 45 layouts, and from 20 to 250 fields. This must be more than LSDW can
handle.
I'm running an iMac SE 400 with 256 MB RAM and 100 MB of that for DW.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or am past the point were a
WYSIWIG
editor will be of any practicle use? If this is the case is there an easy
way
to uninstall LS?
All suggestions welcome!

Hi Diego,
Here is an example of the text I have in my add page and then the
corresponding value list in my update page. Make sure you have the value
list defined and assigned to the field on your layout. Notice that on the
add page I list each value individually and assign it to the field
charter_type. When I call up the update page I only refer to the value list
named charter_type and again the field named charter_type. Since the value
list has been assigned to the charter_type field in the layout, Lasso knows
to look at the field, draw a checkbox for each item in the list, and check
the box that corresponds to the stored value in the field. I hope this
helps.
ADD PAGE==========<input type="checkbox" name="charter_type" value="Passenger
Service">Passenger Service<br>
<input type="checkbox" name="charter_type" value="Cargo">Cargo<br>
<input type="checkbox" name="charter_type" value="Medical">Medical
UPDATE PAGE========[value_list:'charter_type']
<input type="checkbox" name="charter_type" value="[valuelistitem]"
[checked]>
[ValueListItem] <br>
[/value_list]

Hi folks... this is weird...
I have a value list in FMP. It contains the following data:
Uso total - Todos los Medios y Modalidades
Tradicional - TV abierta, Senales Satelitales, Cable, Radio, Cine y
Propaladoras
Restringido - Cables y Senales Satelitales
Restringido - Radio
Restringido - Cine
Restringido - Internet
Restringido - Otros
Plus Adic. - Internet
Plus Adic. - Video Home
Plus Adic. - Audiotexto
Plus Adic. - Otros
When I go to my first .lasso page I check all the boxes of the options I
want, and it works OK. Then, if I later go to my update page all the
ValueList checkboxes appear "empty" and a new one at the end of the list
appears with all the data I've first checked into it...
For example if I first checked "Restringido - Radio" and "Restringido -
Cine" on my update page all the ValueList Items will appear empty and a new
checkbox containig "Restringido - Radio Restringido - Cine" will appear.
Any clue???? Thanks a lot!
