This post has several questions. Will accept assistance anywhere I can get it. Thanks to everyone on the list for assistance in the past- you all are GREAT. (yes I am attempting to butter you up :)
What I am using: Lasso 6.0 LassoStudio for Golive 6.0.1 OSX Server is OSX with WebStar V
======================================= E-Mail Question ===================================== In my form I have a field named COMPANY fill the field COMPANY with this: "Eddie & Sharon"
In my include file for the e-mail [Action_Param: 'company'] .. gives this response: "Eddie & Sharon"
But, set it into a variable first...
[var: 'company' = (Action_Param: 'company')]
then call the variable in my include file like this:
[$company] .. gives this response: "Eddie & Sharon" in the e-mail.
Why is this?
======================================= Setting a variable Question ===================================== This is a little routine I use to set all the fields to a variable.
I use the above and then just call the variables in my e-mail for each field. This works great IF I am updating, if I am using -nothing to just send an e-mail, the above routine does not work.
Any insight on this? Does anyone know a way to do the same with Action_Param to loop through and set variables for every returned Action Param?
I'm lazy and hate manually setting lots of variables!
I also use this little routine to display all variables for troubleshooting (the if statement hides lasso's internal variables)
================================================ LassoStudio 6 for Golove 6 Question ============================================== I typically use a <noedit> bla bla bla lasso code </noedit> in Golive to add multiple lines of code manually. This has worked flawlessly in the past. Now with the new LassoStudio, my lasso code within the notedit tags gets populated with tons of LassoStudio code that renders it unreadable. I have to remove the <noedit> </noedit> and let LassoStudio take over and put in it's little icons etc before I can read it again.
Is there some other tag I can use that LassoStudio will not mess with the code?
So far I am converting most of this into LassoScript code to achieve what I want and that seems to work great. Easy to read and easy to edit. But... Don¹t want to go back and do that on everything right now.
Also, a number of the LassoStudio Icons do not work in Golive. Some do, some don't. I upgraded from the old version of LassoStudio and manually removed all of the old LassoStudio stuff before installing the new. Any ideas why some of the icons will not show up.
I noticed that the code ls_Box marker has an "img src=" statement on it on the icon that does not work. The icons that do work do not have an image src associated with it. Don¹t know if that means anything.
================================================ LassoStudio 6 for Golove 6 COMMENTS ================================================For the most part, it seems to be a great improvement over the previous version. Faster and easier to use. The way snapshots work is MUCH better and smother to me. I never could get a snapshot of one of my databases with the old one. It kept giving me an out of memory error. I assumed it was something wrong with my database. This version does it just fine.
I The LassoStudio code that shows up in the code in the "split source" window is a pain. I understand it (sort of) but I sure wish it did not show up here. The only way to not see it is to just go completely to the source tab.. It renders the split screen useless for lasso coding.
At least it should not show up if "LDML DISPLAY" is set to NONE in the LassoStudio preferences.
That¹s it! Whew......
