I thank Greg Willits and many other members of this forum in responding so promptly to my various lasso code questions, and as such, have got me heading well in my project.
Following is another question to fulfil my next task:
I am having a page to allow any visitor to request for his lost UserID and PIN, by entering and submitting a few field data of himself.
The response page is to check the submitted data and if found to tally exactly with a record in the FMP databse file, the lasso Inline and Email tags will be activated to send an email, using the following codes:
[Inline: -Nothing, -Email.Host='mail.domain.com', -Email.From='sender@senderdomain.com', -Email.To='receiver@receiver.com', -Email.Subject='Email Delivered by Lasso', -Email.Format='/login/Email_Format.txt']
However, the -Email.Format tag appears to be able to send only data that are pre-entered in the Email_Format.txt file stored inside the wwwroot/login/ folder.
What I wish is to extract the original UserID and PIN from the FMP file to send to the requester. I tried using a Email_Format.lasso file inside the login folder instead, and tested with some data in the Email_Format.lasso file, but the email sent was received with a blank page at the receiving end. I thought if Email_Format.lasso file could work, then I can use variables or field tags in the file to email the UserID and PIN to the requester.
I'd really appreciate any tips on how to achieve this via lasso, with the necessary/required codes.
If it's not possible via lasso, then I may try using the FMP Send Mail function to send the UserID and PIN using a Calc field value for the email message body, and using the lasso -DoScript command to activate the FMP Send Mail script. How should the -DoScript code look like in order to ensure it works accordingly?
BTW, are there any security issues or pro and con factors to observe/note by either the Lasso Email tags or the FMP Send Mail script methods?
Thanks very much.
Best Regards: Pierre
